Hi, my name is Chantel Longman. I am a massage therapist, registered with the NHPC. I completed my 2200 hr massage training in 2010, in Edmonton. Prior to studying massage I was in kinesiology at the U of S. Through kinesiology, and volunteering as a student trainer, I was introduced to injury prevention and care as well as sport massage.
Since completing my massage therapy program I have practiced pre- and post-natal massage, lymph drainage, relaxation, therapeutic, kinetic (of the shoulder and neck), trigger point therapy, and sport massage (pre and post).
I believe massage therapy should be included in everyone’s self-care. Some benefits are decreased muscle tension, relaxation, reduced pain/discomfort, improved blood flow, improved lymph flow, as well as headache and migraine relief. Therapeutic massage should not be painful, though it can be uncomfortable at times.
I look forward to meeting you and assisting you on your road to wellness.
